While many problems are quite general and wander from one book to another with some modifications, we feel it appropriate to mention some authors wherever the problem is taken almost "as is". We usually use surnames of authors, here some details follow.

Savchenko

Oliver Savchenko (1934-2015) was a Physics Teacher active for decades principally in Novosibirsk - he authored an excellent book of over 2000 problems somewhat "above average" level, targeted to pupils of schools with advanced mathematics and physics.

Sakharov

Dmitry Sakharov (1889-1961) was also both Teacher and Scientist in Physics, the father of Andrey Sakharov - Nobel prize winner (1975), infamous for both participating in Soviet thermonuclear project and becoming outstanding rights activist and "dissident" later. His book of over thousand physics exercises predated many others, but fell in somewhat obscurity after tensions arising around his son's political activism.

Minarsky

Andrey Minarsky (1964) is a Teacher of Physics in "Physical-Technical High School" Liceum, famous for problems involving Winnie-the-Pooh and Piglet, and also for his poetry.
