The idea is to create a place like infamous Project Euler but for the Physics enthusiasts.
There'll be some explanation about motivation to create this site.
To put it simple, I was studying in the school oriented on breeding scientists (primarily in Physics), but was not very successful in this field, so I become programmer. As years pass, I see there are too many programmers and perhaps too few physicists. Thus here is an attempt to "repay the debt" to all my teachers.
Zhores Alferov was a Soviet Physicist, Nobel prize winner for his works in the field of semiconductor lasers (which are now found almost everywhere) - however besides his scientific works in electronics, he was tirelessly spending much efforts and resources (including part of his Nobel Prize) on various attempts and projects aimed to improve scientific-targeted education - thus he eventually helped to create the school mentioned above (and now named after him) and Academic University - along with raising various funds from various people and corporations in order to make education in these facilities absolutely free for students and comfortable for teachers.
As he passed away few years ago it seems proper to commemorate such an unusually bright and devoted person. Presumably this site shall later incorporate some recollections of him.
